The Peles Castle was the first electrified castle in Europe. The castle's neo-style combines the comfort and aesthetics with a modern layout that permitted the installation of the latest (at the time) technological achievements.
The exterior is specific to the german neo-renaissance - sharp profiles, irregular shapes, fragmented facades, abundance of carved wood and decorative elements.
The terraces show the Italian neo-renaissance, adorned with statues, columns and fountains.
Each of the rooms of the castle is uniquely decorated - rich tapestry and extravagant furniture, ample spaces and well-lit rooms. Here, you also find elements from the German neo-renaissance, along with different rooms that reiterate Italian and English renaissance, German baroque, rococo, hispano-maur and oriental styles. The second floor showcases the most coherent art-nouveau ensemble in Romania.
It is set in Sinaia, a tourist area where you can find accommodation for your film crew.
Among the most impressive rooms that Peles has to offer, you can find:
-The Hall Of Honour - wooden sidings, mobile stained-glass ceiling
-The Royal Library, with rare books engraved in gold and a secret hallway behind the bookshelves.
-The Weapons Room - sheltering over 4000 european and oriental pieces.
-Music, concert and theater rooms
-The imperial appartament
-The royal office
